The Syncronauts are involved in this show and have a display stand booked. We urgently need to get a display together as this takes place first weekend in Oct.

If you would like your van featured in the photographic display please send me information under the following headings:

OWNER
MODEL
YEAR
ENGINE
KNOWN HISTORY
MODIFICATIONS
SPECIAL FEATURES

Also send me a high-res photo of your van 'in action'

We are particularly looking for vans which have travelled abroad. Routes followed and photos would be good.

I will be looking through the Camping & Travelling forum for syncro travel blogs too.

membership@syncronauts.org.uk

Thanks

Thanks to everyone who has responded so far?

Has anyone got a laptop with reasonable battery life the could bring for showing vids? Or a quiet generator (I know this a long shot!)

I will bring it along, I have not started it up for a couple of years but it usually behaves itself.

Great Jed,

We'd love a real suitcase Honda generator but can't afford it ATM
Do your videos play on a Windows PC? Have you any on a DVD ? It may be possible to play them

Just for any that don't know, the other Overland thread...

If there is wifi at the venue then you could play them through the website. We did have a big external hard drive with them all on but it threw a wobbler last year and we lost quite a bit but luckily its stored on line through Vimeo. We should really try and get some on DVD, I will have a word with Jake as he sorts out all the computer stuff and see if he can help, I am going to have to pop over to him and grab a camera as we were talking about doing a video of the weekend. (I spilled coffee on the other one  )

A bit of bad news, I just went to start the generator up and it ran fine for 5 minutes and now it kind of revs up and down then cuts out

There is a valve thing on the top an when you turn it it runs better for a while then cuts out again, I think the carb might need cleaning or something.

The valve is probably a decompressor, for easy starting, which pops up after it first fires (or down whichever it isn't to start with :)

Yes, nearly all utility engines need their carbs cleaning or servicing... a dying art though :)

TBH Jed, don't waste your time, we'll try to find a mains outlet and charge them up there, thank for trying :ok
