Thinking of going to the Isle of Wight in the October half term, it's where the wife's from and she insists we go back as often as possible. Does anyone know of any decent sites they can recommend?

After a bit of tinternet research, we booked earlier this year to go to Grange Farm, PO30 4DA, catching the ferry from Lymington, but never made it - a long story. Actually also thinking of re-booking too for half term as its near the coast and there are animals etc and it seems kid friendly but I would need to check that they'll still be open :-0

We had two weeks in August at Adgestone camping and caravan club site, we had a fantastic time, the wardens are really friendly and helpful. The site is really big and was only at most 3/4 full. The reviews say that the toilet blocks need up dating which is true but they were still spotlessly clean and the showers are really powerful. :D

It will be windy there not good for flimsy awnings. http://www.whitefieldforest.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; is a cool site and is well sheltered form the wind as its set in a forest. We stayed there for a night before we went to Bestival and would recommend it. Close to Tesco & Ryde too.

I liked the look of this site but unfortunately it closes on 1st October.

Just come back from the IOW where we stayed on the Orchards site in Newbridge

You will never find such superior facilities anywhere else.

If you want a really pretty location - but very quiet, try "Pickpockets" it is just a little site in the middle of woodlands, loads of wildlife. The facilities are a tap & toilet but that is what we like, peace , quiet and picturesque - check it out on YouTube, £6.00 per night, if this site is to your taste I would highly recomend it. If you want shop, club house etc. steer clear. The site is mainly used by locals on the island. Have a good time on the IOW and enjoy your holiday.
