Anyone else use hook and loop adhesive tape to secure alarms etc to the carpet lined interior of their van? I've used the stuff at work and think it's brilliant, but wondered whether anyone on here had experience of using it in their pride and joy.

If so, what type have you bought?

This stuff looks good value, but almos suspiciously cheap http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000 ... d_i=468294" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its ok for a temp fix, but on a hot day the glue on the tape tends to melt & un-stick itself.

Velcro heavy duty stick on strips are brilliant, two strips 50mmx100mm that can be cut to size[cost about£4.50]. One full strip can hold up to 15kg. Have used it to hold back the foam side/arm rests in the back, a rubber mat on top of the fridge work surface to stop the dog sliding off when we go around corners and the metal GB plaque on the tailgate :ok

I use it to fit the posh Caravelle rubber door armrests ( cos I keep needing to take them off to fix the central locking or elec windows)
and to hold the carpet between the front seats.
