Steering went very noisy and heavy, looked out the window and it's dumped the p/steering fluid all over the floor
found to be the pipe from the pump, you can just make out the red slit in the pipe

Only £150+ delivery from classic

This happened when trying to get the rear difflock to engage, dont think thats working either

and i thought i was going to have a relaxing week off, not fault finding diff lock..

did cross my mind, but since all the screw ups with bespoke stuff on my van, i'd rather bend over and take it from VW

Do you still have the steel pipes running to the front?

No, I have the b'weks kit fitted
It's the rear locker that's pissing me off more, has worked for years.

Not a good idea.
That pipe has an internal baffle, if you do away with the baffle you end up with noisy PAS.
Pirtek etc will make a straight hydraulic hose without the baffle.
Lloyd, if that is an original and knackered please don't throw it away, if you wouldn't mind I would like a sample I could send to get reproduced and see if we can get some sensibly priced ones made.
I've found a tame Hydraulics place that does a lot of development work for the OEM and they are making all the right noises, I've got a few samples away with them at the moment and I have to go to them soon with a van load of things I want reproducing.
Simon.

Infact, looking at that and the swage on it, it doesn't look like an original.
I don't think the VW ones had red internals either!

It was on it when I bought the van, so presumed it was original. I'm sure it also has the original mount on it that attaches to the chassis rail. Pas is very quiet when it was working. I'll be taking it off in the next day or so, can send it if you like or take a couple more pics to confirm?
