Hi
I am tackling the rust! and need to apply seam sealer. is there a correct way?
Prime bodywork first?
what size bead?
how to smooth out?
do i prime afterwards or put paint straight on top of sealer?
Thanks

Remove rust by cutting out /blasting/grinding.
Apply acid product of your choice vactan/phosphoric acid/metal ready (I use phosphoric acid)
If you want to be really really thorough, blast off the acid and put on a second treatment.
Then paint with an epoxy etch primer (such as Lechler 29107).
Then seam seal.
What you do after that won't matter so much!
That's my way but I'm sure people do it many many different ways using many different products.
Its important to deal with both sides of the piece of metal you're working on, as remember the metal is only a mm or so thick and rust will eat through it pretty fast.
