my rear tail lights on one side are not working.

on one side I have the older type ULO (working) and on the other I have Hella (not working)

The hella one seems to be missing the internal metal pieces where the bulb connects so it will never work.

I read that they are not compatible with each other on Justkampers - is this just because of the way they clip together or the fact the white pin adapter does not match up the lights correctly?

hella / ulo lenses must use hella / ulo lamp holder

the wiring connection is the same , the shape of the holder is not , they only clip into like for like.


as long as you have a holder/ lense of the same make all is good.

all tabs should be present except for the n/s fog lamp tab as a foglamp is only fitted o/s on either a rhd or lhd so if you have a lhd bulb holder you wont have an o/s fog lamp tab.
