gearbox advice as it shot it

Hi ya all jumped in the van tonight for a ride and noticed the gearbox is noisey a loud whining noise done all the important parts oil and checked it over but its still there is this common would it be just a case of changing the diff bearings or is it scrap the box and buy another 
if so does anyone have one its a 4 speed engine code dg..
