quick video of our recent tour of West France this summer. The van did great over the 2000 miles, (she did get a new clutch to come home with), other than that no mechanicals and a pleasure to drive

4 of us and a dog, what an epic summer.

Theres a couple of faults on the load up towards the end, Ive had a nightmare with movie maker trying to upload it, but I dont think it spoils it to much

Thanks

I just made a simply bridle using spare kite line and tied it onto the leading edge of the kite. Stoked with the results

Nice video, good quality.
I'd love to just take the van and "do" parts of France. Too chicken in case I break down! Maybe one day.

Nice one Shem, I like making van videos too. Just started to use my mates Go Pro and it took a bit of getting used to but you get some cracking results with it.
Keep them coming

Provided you have breakdown cover for Europe you are fine. I've been doing these trips and broke down in my T2 since 1984. My kids used to say breaking down on hoilidays is traditional (my daughter hates the T25 because in five years and about 10 trips over the water, we have not had any breakdowns - I on the other hand am a happier bunny).
French mechanics have always been brilliant when needed and have always got me back on the road within 24 hours, which is more than I can say about garages/mechanics over here (I can bore you with the details at a meet). So get going and enjoy the road space and the scenery over there. You will love thr driving in particular.

Breaking down was on my mind a lot,, but other than the clutch going, (pressure plate, so I still managed to drive it for long enough to get to a home base), we had nothing. Great fun, strongly recommend
I use the gopro, for so much stuff, their a great little camera, especially for close up stuff, Love it. Just wish the load up hadnt chopped out a few files, gggrrrrrrrr
Thanks all

Really cool vid Shem. The bit from the kite is fabulous, are you going as fast as it looks?
Great music too! Love the scream at the begining.

You lucky b****. 6 weeks of heaven and constant sunshine. If I took that amount of time away I don't think I would want to go back to the UK, home or work. And only 2000 miles driven. That sounds so relaxing.
How did the clutch replacement go? Was the garage service good? My garage/mechanic/breakdown experience has always been good over there on the half dozen occasions that I've needed to use them (that was over a 28 year period it has to be said and in a T2). It would be good to hear about your experience.

The French break down service was great, friendly garage although they didnt speak much English. The RAC cover over there was good, I am a little gutted to find that my £200 policy doesnt cover me in Britain however!
They insisted on using genuine VW parts, so I know have a very expensive clutch kit in the van, but Im hoping that means it will last forever and a day
I do like to keep myself busy, Peter T. I didnt get any surf or skate board footage but I did a bit of that as well
