HI, and thank to all the peeps that recommend things to check. well after a month or so of it sitting whilst i played with my audi s4 , i decided to fix the bus . lat year i fitted , new plugs, leads , dizzy cap and rotor arm . but the intermitant talling and cutting out started after a return from a 650 ish mile round trip from holkiday. imagine to my surprise to find arcing marks on the rotor arm and a big black line inside the cap, were the contact points are . i replaced both of these and presto no more cutting out..

i shall now keep a spare of each , just incase it decided to resurface when im in the middle of no where .
