Help!
I have a t 25 2 liter air cooled .
Can anyone recommend an electric fuel pump for this engine, as it has a mechanical one at the moment. Which works okay but after sitting for a bit takes a lot of cranking to get fuel up to the carb.once running she works fine. My thoughts are that an elec pump will pressurize the carb straight away. I am also guessing that I will need some kind of fuel pressure regulator? By the way it has a centrally fitted webber carb.
Thank you for reading and look forward to a response .

Are you sure that fuel supply is your problem? How long have you left it sitting when it won't go?

Unless your van is left unused for a period long enough to evaporate a significant amount of the fuel out of the float bowls, the carbs will still be full of fuel and the engine will start. There's no need to 'pressurise' the fuel system to make the engine go.

Ordinarily If the fuel pump were deficient the first problem will be high speed running, reduced fuel flow will affect that first.

If you need an electric pump, there are a number of brands available, but I used one from a Kawasaki 600 that I bought from ebay, similar pumps are used for umpteen carbed bikes, and for the same reason as the van - the carbs are higher up than the bottom of the tank, so just about anything will do the job and such pumps are commonly rather less expensive, I paid a fiver for mine and then later another fiver for the relay that controls it.

As above, not a fuel pump problem.

Is the carb setup correctly?
