Are they, umm, necessary? Like, really really necessary?

I seem to have, umm, mislaid one. From the front shoe, if it makes a difference. Just had the drum off to see what a scraping sound is (new shoes & cylinders a few days ago), and it was the spring & (what was left of the) retainer having a wander. The pin, of course, has buggered off completely.

Any sources a bit handier...? I'm in Belgrade...

Anybody know if they're the same as Bay? If so, I might have a cunning plan...

Try the local garage or parts supplier, all brake shoe retaining springs and pins are pretty much the same, just different sizes, so a matter of finding one that is close enough that it'll fit.

Might have some spares here if you've got a functional postal address.

The ones I got from jk were to fat to fit throught the hole in the back plate. I had to grind the edges off so make sure you get correct size.

thats more to do with the hole building up with a small amount of rust!

I forgot to say they were new backing plates.
the jk ones were alot thicker than the original ones and where they were flattened at the end just wouldn't fit through the hole.
