AFN 219 relay next to the ECU buzzing.

Is the 219 relay next to the ECU suppose to buzz slightly after start up?
Just wondering if anyone could help with an answer. I have had a google search and from what I understand it feeds a few vital things but the replacement 219 relays on ebay says its for the electric fan

Hi Jed,
that's a pretty important relay - gives power to most of your sensors - I'm guessing you've seen this, but in case not:

in mine I always carried a spare (AHU is 109 relay, but same principle I think). Might be worth getting one anyway?

Thanks for the reply Ewen,
Yeh I took a look at that earlier, looks like it is a bit that could go wrong so I best add a spare to the on board parts list anyway. I was getting a slight lag in power at 2200rpm then it would pick up again at 2400rpm while going up hair pin bends betewwn 3000 and 7000 feet above sea level but put it down to a sheared lower turbo stud and the exhaust leaking slightly and the altitude as it was held on by a peace of fence for 2500km. Maybe it could have been the relay

Hi Jed,
I had a sheared lower turbo bolt too (I wonder if this is common on 15 degree installs and vnt turbos) and didn't experience lag - just the annoying squeaking noise of a leaking manifold to turbo joint!
If it were the relay I think it would have cut the engine - I may be wrong but I would say if it were the same lag happening at the same time then it's more likely to be something to do with your vanes I'd say - are they moving freely? No vacuum leak to or from the N75 - res ball all ok? Of course the air might be a bit thinner up there (particularly if it's hot) - maybe enough to cause lag, although lag is sometimes the sign of a badly performing MAF - there are some tests you can do to check it's ok.
I reckon a buzzing relay is probably an internal problem - worth cleaning up the earths and pins and battery source to it, but I'd imagine all that's pretty sorted on your van!
Hope you figure it out anyway
