Can anyone confirm the original FAG bearing numbers (inner and outer parts) for the rear hubs? I've got some contacts in the bearing trade who are very good at finding NOS stock around the world

I'm actually after the manufacturer's (FAG) own part numbers, not the VW stock ones. That bearing code will be unique to the original VW specification, unlike the current available stock which sometimes have excessive clearance. We all know what that leads to, hence my query.

call me at work - the inner is a standard bearing C3 clearance, readily available in SKF, 6207 iirc
outer is a special - I know where there were the last 40 Torrington made ones, VW used SKF and Timken generally for the big bearings, INA for the smaller stuff and only sometimes went FAG for bearings - I use SKF in preference to FAG but I can get them for pretty much the same price, generally FAG are cheaper; SKF have moved a lot of their production abroad, but there's a lot of old stock of the german, italian and us made ones still about and the malaysian stuff seems as good and still better/as good as the FAG
