Camping Club - Amazing value!

Went for an overnight stop at the Clent Hills Camping Club site yesterday to meet friends. I booked for a basic grass pitch with no hookup for one occupant. The price for the pitch came to £16.45 which I didn't consider unreasonable.
Whilst signing in at reception I enquired about membership, which is £40 per year. I then enquired as to what my pitch fee would be if I was a member.
By knocking off the non-member pitch fee and claiming golden-oldie concession (valid for 55 years+) I ended up paying £6.55 !!!
This was a reduction of £9.90 on a single night stay. Even my elementary maths skills tells me that the membership fee is recovered in just 4 nights stay.
I believe that I will be frequenting Camping Club sites more often now.
(The friends I went to see did not feel the value was as good as there were two younger adults on a hard standing pitch with electric so it cost them £22.50 per night)
It's great to be old, single and willing to rough it a bit!
