Hi all, any chance anyone can help me with my fridge issue... the guy I bought "Colin" from told me the fridge was working and stupidly I assumed it was however can't get it to ignite with the gas?? The adjuster knob was stuck with gunk which I've cleaned and sorted but can't get it to work. Before shelling out for a new (to me) one, wondered if anyone can suggest anything or send me any photos of what it should look like connected from the back! Bear with me as new to all this and technology is not my strongest point but have an enthusiastic and more practical Brother and Dad willing to help!!! Cheers all, Sarah

there may also a tap somewhere along the pipework you need to turn on to get the gas through.

Do you know what fridge it is? Is the ignition electronic or the 'clunk' push button piezo ignition? As said there may be an isolation valve in the pipework. You definately have gas yes?

It is a clunk style ignition so will check everything connected properly as the gas is definitely working, thanks so much for the help, wish me luck

You are keeping the gas knob pushed in while trying to light it aren't you? Make sure the knob pushes the shaft of the valve inwards too else the gas won't flow - was it this knob that was "full of gunk"?

Yes it was that knob that was full of gunk and the gas is working elsewhere so it may be that tbe fridge hasn't worked for a long time. The guy I bought it from did say they never used it and had owned "Colin" for 3 maybe 4 years??
Tried looking for the model number but all scratched off, so I know it's an Electolux but anything beyond that is anyone's guess. Thanks for the manual, I know it's a different model but guess the principle will be the same!
