BRITSTOP REVIEWS.

OK then, here we go....
I was so impressed with the 3 Britstops that we did last week, that I would like to share my opinions with others. I will only be using the numerical codes rather than naming sites, so it will be limited to those who have the book....but it may also inspire others to join up
We had booked all the sites in advance.
First up....No 510.
The owner was very welcoming. Told us we were able to park anywhere on the site. Advised us to walk or drive around and just pick a spot. The choices ranged from 2 fields, hardstanding or "tucked into woodland". We chose the field and were the only ones there once all was shut up and gone home. Someone at the site told us about a pub about a mile away which had real ales and a lovely friendly atmosphere. He and his lady friend met us there later on and we had a cracking night!
There are nesting barn owls on the site but we weren't lucky enough to see them.
The cost to us was the stuff we bought at the shop for our tea.
This was our first stop and I forgot to ask about the facilities that the book says they have
Next up....No 509.
Again...a great welcome. The owner asked us to ring an hour before arrival so he could save a space for us in the car park. We did this, but arrived earlier than expected. Not a problem. He just sent one of the regulars out to move his car, which he did without a murmur
We were parked in a quite pokey 5-car carpark, but it was very quiet. The owner said he does quite well out of Britstops, getting about 2 campers/motorhomes per week.
There was a hosepipe for fresh water. Waste water went into the gents toilet. There was also a decked area that more than made up for the lack of space around the van. The pub was quiet and we had this area to ourselves. The car park was gated at night (but not locked).
We had dinner and several drinkies in the pub, and very nice it was too.
And lastly....No 211.
Another great welcome. The owner was not around, but the lady in the shop rang her and confirmed that we were ok to park up. We parked up in front of the shop. It was not a "regimented" car park, but a large sandy/grassy patch of land. There were walks on the farmland, but I fell asleep
, so we didn't check these out. The owner lived in the house nearby, but the site was very quiet and we didn't see anyone once the shop had shut.
Not sure about the "facilities" as the lady in the shop wasn't too sure, and we didn't find taps or bins to use.
We bought stuff for our tea from the shop. The choc chip biccies didn't last long
Come on then people...share your experiences
