Have checked all the fuses. Both front and back stopped together. Thinking it might be the switch on the column. Any ideas before I strip the column down and end up with a shoe full of copper contacts and mysterious black dust.
Holiday in Cornwall next week so gonna need the washers

Early or late fusebox? Just the washers not working; the wipers all work ok?

Late fusebox, wipers ok - including when pulled or pushed as if to wash.

Weather not helping, but both front and back washers stopped at the same time so I will check out the one in the back first

Both front and rear washer pumps are on fuse 11. Completely separately fed to the actual front and rear wipers circuits. I know you said you'd checked fuses but I'd double check that one
Pages 12.39 and 12.40 in the Haynes manual if you have one

I have removed the rear pump and there is power at the right time to the connector but the "pump don't work".
Will check front when the floods subside.
Ta very muchly for your helps so far, just a bit odd that they both stopped at once.

yeah does a bit. I'd suggest earths but they use different earth points. Do they make a noise like they're trying to run?

I put it across a battery and it didn't move but smelled "hot" quite quick

that does sound shagged; surprised it's not taking the fuse out if it's not spinning with 12v across it.
Had a look at the front one yet?
