Hi all,

My 1990 T25 Panel van has problems getting gears - mainly reverse. It had a new VAG gearbox 40k ago, so I suspect linkage.

Are there any obvious things that wear out? Any likely candidates to look at in the linkage?

Check the wiki.

There are lots of bushes in there which do wear out. It's not too dear to replace them, but when you've got 8' of complex linkage there are going to be wearing parts!

Does the linkage feel sloppy?--if not it may need ajusting---if you get a Haynes manual it describes ajustment for both 4 & 5 sp linkages--also is yer gearbox oil level ok?---
