part numbers of bearings in transmission

Does anybody know the part numbers of the bearings in the
transmission? especially the ones on the inputshaft. Since the online
ETKA ask for money, I couldn't find the numbers on the net.
Is there any other option than the VW itself to buy the bearings ?
I am in Tonbridge Wells

I can give you the vw numbers, but if you have the manufacturers numbers eg FAG, or SKF from the actual bearings then you can trawl round the bearing suppliers to find alternative supplies. I have found front hub bearings from alternative source for less than half the vw price, but none available from them till FAG make some more at the end of september : ( Though BMW 7 series E23 and E32 chassis rear bearings are the same from what I can see side by side, and a certain german supplier is selling them on ebay for the syncro) Also front hub seals are on back order with vw delivery eta end of the month - if anyone has any or knows of an alternative source then please let me know.

I haven't yet started looking at the gearbox bearings, will do when taking next one to bits though, as that's the easiest way to get the manufacurers numbers usually - failing that get them from vw supplied new bearings.
If anyone ever has new bearings I would ask that they note the application and all and any numbers on the bearing itself, if we had a location to put the info it would be quite useful eh.

Syncro front hub bearings are usually supplied by VW as FAG 527243AC

Dave at Shiplake Motors may be able to provide the gearbox bearings though from stock as he rebuilds them, also cogbox worth a try, or even your local gearbox specialist who will have access to the info if they are online.

Its the seals not the bearings that you'll have more trouble getting I think... some only from VW and not cheap! Check your PM later.
