2.1 MV engine Super unleaded or standard?

I've just recently bought a US model Vanagon which has a 2.1 MV engine.

It's my first time ever owning a petrol vehicle after previously owning a diesel westy and several diesel golfs beforehand.

I've recently seen loads of conflicting info regarding what grade of unleaded fuel to use. I've been running it on standard unleaded for the last few hundred miles and it all seems to run very nicely. But now I'm not sure if I should be using the super unleaded instead.

I've done a wiki search but it all seems to mention the higher compression engines. Can anyone clarify for me as I don't want to damage anything?

Cheers

MV's need 91 minimum octane petrol so normal 95 unleaded is fine.
It's the DJ that needs 98 octane due to it's higher compression....unless the timing has been retarded.

MV 2.1:
