T5 front double seat?

Hi
I thinking it would be nice to have all three of us sitting up front for our next big trip. I've seen a lot of T5 double front seats on the bay of evil. They have a very deep stand, unlike our T25's, where the seat mount is part of the van. Could I fit a T5 double front?

Here are some photos:

Any thoughts?

Yes...

... in the same way that you can fit a rocket motor for assistance on those steep hills.

With enough engineering, anything can be made to fit.

The only twin seat I'm aware of that drops straight in is the original T3 one, which, incidentally, will only fit vans with a bulkhead.

So you're going to have to build something.

I'd suggest looking at Land Rover front seats and Range Rover rears, LRs have a similar front seat arrangement to the T3 and people have fitted RR rears, so both are possibilities.

(the rocket works very well in case you were wondering, it also appears to discourage even the most determined of tailgaters...)

Having been in a mate's T5 recently, that "very deep stand" is a massive storage box - and if you were to use that, then your passengers heads would be somewhere outside the van. If you chop that down, then - sure - you can use it, but the base is hinged to allow access to it.

You can probably find something much more suitable in other vans.

I used to have a Honda FRV, and if there was any way of fitting the seats out of one of them, it'd be perfect.
