Vans always been a lazy starter, but usually starts just before the battery dies.
She wont start now though.
Battery fully charged up.
Turn key. Can hear starter rolling over.
just doesnt catch and roar to life.
Roy has talked me over the phone on how to start in the past but i cant remember
these vans have a knack to them.
Have searched wiki and older posts.
searching for starting gives a lot of other posts including for sale posts...
Can anyone help in best procedure on how to start please.
i think roy told me press accelerator peddle, keep peddle down, turn key, then lift peddle?

According to the manual (and someone please correct me if i'm wrong)
For a cold start, one pump on the accelerator before starting
For a warm start feather the accelerator while starting
For a hot start foot firmly planted on the accelerator while starting

Seems to work for me

From cold...1 full depression to set the mechanical choke mechanism (no more or you will flood it) then crank.
Slow cranking is often due to a worn oilite bush that supports the nose of the starter shaft.

Poor earth/live connections.

Mine is very slow to crank when the engine has reached normal running temperature yet starts perfectly from cold.
What could that be?

Only option is to take top off of carb and pour a little fuel in. Cant get 3rd screw off. I cant believe my luck with this van today
