Advice please as I am getting desperate nowa( does any one know if the later pump from a 1y will fit the earlier engine I am concerned as there is only 1 electrical connection on my pump and I assume there will be more on the later ones?

This one looks promising but the vehicle compatibility thing says no.

I rang them today and they said it has an immobiliser of some kind on it and has several leads going into it but they were not sure I have phoned and texted everyone I know but none of them seem to know if it is suitable or not, please has anyone come across this before?

its strange isnt it...mine didnt have an immobiliser on it and it has the mechanical advance like the old 1.6 had..perhaps mine is or isnt the right one for the engine..but its definately different to everyone elses

The one I have at the moment only has 1 lead to the solenoid and a manual advance cable so I was looking for a similar one if possible but that one looked good and was guaranteed for 3 months.

My 1.9 1Y caddy engine year 1998 came with a electric cable to the advance - which was easy removed - it also had a black palstic "immobiliser" covering the stop solinoid with four wires coming from it. I removed the immo and just plugged into the stop solinoid with the one cable like the standard 1.6D. Its hard to see on that ebay pic but it looks similiar to mine

Cheers that may be good news as all the local scrap yards had plenty of Caddy pumps
