speedo drive ? where ?

ok .. being lazy and its dark .. but i assume i have a speedo drive output on my gearbox somewhere ?

but i have a DK gearbox in my garage .. but it does not seem to have a speedo drive hole ? am i blind ? or do some VW boxs not have a speedo drive ?

lol .. cheers mate ... just wondering if my electronic speedo drive off the sharan would plug in .. ? allwoing me to run sharran dials ?

i know it might not ready right .. we can fix that later :)

people have used the donor clocks, but it is not straight forward from what i've heard. RJES sell a VSS if you want the ECU to know what speed your going

If you want to use electronic dials, you can just attach the speed sensor that you take out from sharan box to the end of t25 speedo cable. The sensor will not fit into a hub. And pretty sure dial will show incorrect speed.

Ive used the sensor from a F0rd Fiesta to get the signal I need for my fuel injection. It gives 8 pulses per revolution.
I think you will need to start by testing the sharan sensor and working out how many pulses per wheel turn it gives.
I think it is possible to get frequency convertors but I dont know anything about them.
The Fiesta sensor was easy to adapt and fit behind the speedo.

i shall see once i get the bulk of the conversion down next week.

also i did removed my gearbox the other day to do the clutch .. i now remember not disconnecting any speedo drive :)
