Ive got a 1.9 petrol injection vanagon, and need to change the fuel filter .My van has got a plastic white box type filter, ive looked at all the online stores and no one seems to stock them.Ive looked at US sites such as go westy and they sell them. Can i put a filter like the ones they sell gsf, just campers etc...The only prob i can see, is my filter is about 5 inchs long, and the other filters ive seen online are smaller,so pipes wont fit onto new filter.

Change your pipe length to suit a more easily available/replaceable filter then. If the pipes have been on for many years you'd be well advised to replace them anyway.

Where is this filter situated? As fuel injected models should have a filter like this. And it should be situated under the van.http://www.brickwerks.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; sell them.Get rid of the one you may have in the engine bay.

Definitely replace the pipes, one of our "clients" last year lost around 20 litres of petrol as it slowly leaked away over the month or so his van was parked up waiting for parts. The pipe to the filter was split along it's entire length. The fuel filter, however, was brand new, fitted before they left on their tour of Europe. They blamed poor fuel economy on the tired engine, unaware they were in fact leaving a trail across France and Italy.

All for want of about 10p worth of fuel line.
