Windscreen seal repair and general servicing - Durham

Hello All,
I became the owner of a 1982 air-cooled 2l van last thursday, then drove it over 1200 miles around the highlands & islands.
Back now and time to start the repairs, first things first - windscreen seal (passenger footwell wet and can see rust in the corners).
Is there anyone on here, around the Durham area who would be interested in assisting (mostly doing) this job with me in exchange for £sterling beer tokens or can recommend a garage that is familiar with the T25 in the area, - I'm still waiting for a reply from http://www.vw-shop.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; since 7th July, so not holding much hope from them, unless they are on holiday,
Also - hoping to see if anyone local willing to have a look over the van and offer suggestions on a couple of things.
