Ok so a have a rather big leak around the sump.
So I've bought a new gasket.

But I also have a leak where the turbo return pipe is and around the turbo as well.

I ptfe taped the connections on the return pipe but that hasn't worked and the pipe I bought is to short.

Also around the turbo is there a gasket I can buy for the turbo?

where are you putting the ptfe tape? As if you got the brickwerks one, the fitting is screwed into turbo and sump and seals with a washer, so ptfe not needed. If it is where the flexi part joins the fitting, you do know the threaded part isn't what makes the seal, so wrapping ptfe around the thread won't make any difference. As for the gasket for the turbo, do you mean for where the exhaust joins it? if so, yes

I bout a second hand one from eBay.

Ptfe tape put on the threads where each end of the return pipe screws on.

For the turbo it's actually where the turbo is and not where the exhaust is.

Should have bought new, they are all about 20 odd years old now, the new one i linked to is £37, i think jager sells remade jx ones for around 80 euros?

the pipe does not seal on the threads, its a union type fitting as far as i know, so inspect the part that actually does the sealing for scratches ect that will cause a bad seal. PTFE is not ideal for engines, as it will shed pieces off as you tighten the joint, which could then stick in oil ways
turbo gasket, you'll have to explain where you mean, as you have a few ports (exhaust, fresh air, boost)

Ok so I've taken the sump off to replace gasket and found that the shield has the gasket as one unit.
So do I need a new gasket/shield? Where can I buy this from brickwerks doesn't have this.

I sorted out the sump leak.

The turbo is leaking and also where the oil return pipe fits to the turbo leaks.

How can i fix this?

£180+vat if yours is rebuildable or i think £300 plus vat for a new recon one if yours is past saving

Hopefully when i get a proper look it will just be the pipes to the turbo and not a buggered turbo.

Can i take turbo off without draining oil from sump?

yep, as long as you keep the oil return up high

Draining the oil is nothing comparared to taking the turbo off however...

angle grinder was used on mine

Sounds effective...oxy bottles are my favoured weapon..

Why are they so hard to take off?
