T25 Brake Problem

Hi
I have a T25, when I take it for a run after about five miles the brakes seem to seize on, and the foot pedal goes to the floor. Back brakes are quite cold but the front ones are really hot. Once it cools down all is well.

Any thoughts would be most appreciated.

Your Calipers are sticking on mate..
You are boiling the brake fluid..U need to sort before driving it again.

Had similar on my front left - got the calliper off and found a ring of corrosion around the piston, cleaned it all up (careful not to get WD40 etc near the braking surfaces) and been right as rain since. If its really bad you could be looking at recon callipers but I'm pretty sure you can get them on an exchange basis

plus once you unsieze/replace the callipers, as you have boiled the fluid best to replace it all with fresh !

Absolutely, it's probably twenty odd years old and well past being any use. :D

I replaced both calipers on mine last year along with the fluid. Also while the system is being worked on replace the flexible brake hoses all round (2 on the calipers and 2 on the rear swing arms). You will need to soak the ferrels/Brake pipe unions with wd40 or plus gas a day before as it works its way around the thread and helps when you undo them..they will be seized..
Check the master cylinder too (Behind the instrument binnacle..speedo/fuel gauge) shine a torch under the steering column and see if you have any brake fluid leaking from the servo....

Guys

Sorry to be a bit slow with the reply, but thanks for all the help - I'm not the best at fixing things so I have a friend who will do the needful tomorrow and hopefully I will be able to get about for the rest of the holidays.

Malcolm :ok
