Not often I venture outside of the Syncro forum .... Hello out there 80/90.. I am looking to buy a decent camping stove to carry in a van, must be very portable as I can shift it between vehicles. What are the good makes with a good rep. For adventurous camping? Also what are the options with gas? Cheers Jes

We use a stovetec - real nice cooking with wood and an iron pot

I bought one of these as I wanted to rid the van of gas :)

Runs best on pure alcohol which is easy to get in France but not over here.
Totally free standing and self contained so just move it where you want.

My camper has a built in stove/grill but I always carry one of those small single burner gas stoves that comes in a plastic carrying case. It runs on a single gas cartridge (aerosol type) & it's very good for heating a single pan or kettle. The stoves cost from £10.00 at VW shows. The cartridges are 4 for £5.00 at VW shows but apparently can be bought for 4 for £4.00 at B&M Stores. :)
