problems fitting a westy towbar

Hi, am just in the process of fitting a westy towbar to my 1987 Autohomes Kamper.
It should be a simple job but looks as though the bumper will need to have a bit cut out to allow it to fit, is this correct?
It is a standard metal bumper.
Also where is the best place to connect the wiring?
Hope someone out there can help.
Regards

aye, you might need to cut a lil notch.
i did all the connections behind the NS
rear light cluster, take the cluster out
and do 'em all in there out of the way and
quite easy to reach too, solder them if
you have the kit to do it.

I have a westy bar but no bumper, looking at it there is no way a bumper would fit without trimming.

the only way is but chopping the bumber, think this is the same with all! just run a jigsaw to make two cuts and fold the piece in the way back!!

It's normally a cut out in the bumper for the towbar and one for the socket.
On one of mine I mounted the socket further up in the body - keeping it out of harm's way. I also used a metal socket, which is less likely to shatter than a plastic one.

I have a tow bar to sell on general stuff, fits in the place of the original bumper brackets and your bumper bolts straight to it with NO cutting.
