CARVER WATER HEATER

hi im a newbie just bought connie camper van a 1985 transporter but cany get my head around the carver water heater system ,,, any help most appreciated ????

Plenty of instructions on t'internet for Carver Cascade.
Switch it on, leave it a while, open hot tap and hot water appears!
Do you have gas? Do you have water? Do you have power?
What's the problem exactly?
