temp guage goin funny

Hi i have a problem with my temp guage, i have replaced thermostat about 2 months ago, everything ok but the other day did a 4 hour drive and my temp went to cold. When i got to 50 mph in traffic it went upto half way and does this if im strugglin up big hills, the faster i go the colder the temp goes. is my brand new thermostat broke or is it a faulty sender. The thing is i replaced the old thermostat for the same reason.
