I love following threads like this to see the starting point and then the finished product. Good luck with it all :ok

Great starting point!

No idea on the roof but it looks like its missing a front section over the cab.
Doesn't effect how the roof works but may cause water to be driven in under the front of the roof when driving in the rain.

Strange seeing you here instead of E38

there is in bodywork if the person doing the work keeps updating regularly,
rather than a sepparste heading a list of members who have done the work with a link to the threads alongside might be more palatable.
sent from the glen of ahrelow.

Glad to see you got one Anna, will look forward to following progress, looks like you have got a few areas of serious rot, but never as bad as a 'bay :)

cheers guys. been stripping the interior tonight.

small rear windows i think are from a bedford and leaking through the seals and the rust is going to get really bad. Its at the point where its just about saveable by the lokos of it. So ive ordered 2 rear Glasses and converted van seals from work so cutting out the larger windows should mean the rust is taken with the cutting

Lost out on a devon interior so still on the hunt

Sassy i still am on e38 everyday lol that forum is like home

The rood is a bilbos and missing the front

it elevates like a devon as this thread here

https://club8090.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=38&t=104633" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It has asunroof in the fron so i guess thats why they never put it on

now got inner sills outer sills, left bottom B pillar, 2 new mirrors, 2 rear glass and seals, 2 front outer arch skins i hope i can get away with

and rear trailing arm mounts on order from classic parts in germany

i think thats it for te min

How about the cab steps? They're usually gone. Also check the seat belt mounting points on the arch, may be very weakly held in.
And you will probably discover rust of some kind at the lower corners of the front screen, only visible when you take the screen out.

started taking out seatbelts last night

Mountings look ok bvit surface rusty btu no holes. Bolt came undone fine

Steps have balaintantly been repaired before badly. alot of sealent has been used so not sure how bad they are underneath or whether the sealent has saved them

Not seen any rust around the front screen but will check although i plan on not having to take out the front screen.

Took up all the cab mats etc. Looks nasty but just dirt.

I must get some pics. Going to get some sealent to re seal my skylight at lunch as that is leaking. apart fromthat and the rear windows they are the only 2 leaks i can find.

got some work ahead of you there  .
Take it nice and steady, bit at a time.
What did you use for tinting the windows and how was it to apply?
Daz :ok

For the windows i just bought a cheap roll of tint film i used dark smoke from ebay. You can buy simular in Halfouds.

You use loads of soapy water so it doesnt stick to its self. quigee it out and trim the flim. easy peasy unless your going over a rear window heater and obv alot easier with the windows out. Hope to get the rear done tomorrow with the glass still in the van

And if the rain holds off possibly cut and fit the rear windows

Spent yesterday tinting the sliding window till i ran out of tint

Then sanding all THE floors down adn taking off any surface rust before treating and primering for now.

Its coming along quicker than i expected at the moment lol im please with myself thought i'd need help stripping it as never done anythign like a van but it was surprisingly easy and ive got quite far in one weekend. i reckon a week doing a bit every night and the floors will be done

Goignt o stock up on paint and rust treatment at luncha dn more sealent as i need it for when i cut the rear windows out and put them in

Keep chipping away at it... there comes a point in every big project where you panic at the scale of it.
Once you get over that, its not too bad!
