Hi there

I have a 2l air cooled t25. I'm just had a new exhaust back end fitted. But the problem is that when I get to about 50mph I start to lose power and the van shakes. It happens more going up hills. And picks up fine going down hills. I'm really not a guy that know what I'm doing on a engine. I'm very worried that it doing alot of halm to it. I've had a little look online. And someone said something about a air box. If any one can help with info!!

If it definitely only happens at higher speeds I'd first check the fuel supply is sufficient, and that the timing is correct.
If the fuel pump and/or pushrod are worn or if there's an obstruction in the fuel hoses/tank it will struggle at high speeds.

Thanks for that. The guy at the garage found that there was two filters. One on the engine and one by the fuel tank. We didn't know there was two of them. And the tank one was fuel of rust etc. so he is testing it now. Hope that was the problem. Thanks guys. You have been a help

removing the one in the engine bay will also help supply.
VW never fitted two, and there's no need for two
