Bertie has lowered suspension and VW (Montreal ?) Wheels. I don't know the J size sorry.
What would you recommend for 205/R16 91W front and rear please.
Thanks again.

Try this thread
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Ge ... ssure_calc as a good starting point
(It comes up if you type "tyre pressure" into the wiki...

)

What I would really recommend though it getting some proper tyres that are rated highly enough for your van.

Doh ! The wiki. Thanks a million.
Now Tyres rated high enough ? What is the load rate of the front and rear axles ? And divide by 2 ? Is that correct ?

Tyre load ratings are calculated on max gross weight and should always have a generous margin. Volswagen's recommended 97's or above although I did see somewhere some compelling evidence that they also fitted a '95' load rating at some point (sorry can't give you the link it's just something I saw a few months back but with evidence to show this was the case)
Personally I would stick to 97 or higher.

Well once again thanks very much.
Yep after reading the wiki and a quick phone call to the local tyre dealers, Bertie has well got the wrong tyres on.
After a bit if tyre size comparison I think I'll get 4 new 215/55 R16 97 T rated boots
Anyone run any of these ?
Thanks again.
BTW loving the forum.

I'm close, I'm running 215/65 R16 (105).
For long motorway runs I put 4 bar all round - gives an increase in mgp.

That would make the circumference of the new tyres around 2.5% smaller which isn't massive but not the way I would want to go if I were buying new tyres.
Remember standard 185 R 14C's are '82' aspect ratio.
215/60 R16 ? around 1% bigger or 215/65 R15 around 1.5% bigger

Hi,
http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyresize.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
If you scroll down to the bottom of the page they have a tyre comparison thingy.
Thanks for your suggestions. I think I will put 215/60 R16 99H/V ? tyres on "Bertie"
My local tyre shop said he would part ex the old ones and then the new ones work out at £60 each.
Thanks again for everyones help.
