Carb tuning / rolling road needed West Yorks area

I have just re-fitted my engine which I have rebuilt over the winter. (2.0 litre CU air-cooled - Automatic trans)

Engine fires up and runs but it is idling really fast. If I time it as per book (5° atdc) the idle comes down but it runs really bad (flat, no pick up/power). It runs ok with the idle higher, but cant bring the idle down by adjusting carbs! Also when revved it takes ages to settle back to the idle.

Carbs are std Solex 34 PDSIT

Would really appreciate any recommendations for Carb tuning guys in Yorkshire area that anyone has used, or any ideas anyone might have.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Ben

Cheers all.

MOT is on Sat morning, so crossing everything.

I am thinking that if it is running ok a trip to Gassure might be beneficial?
