Sliding Windows

OK Been prowling around the site for a few weeks.
I recently bought a 1990 TD camper and am a bit confused as to how I trace things.
Log book says it was originally a panel van. Actually the log book says it still is. Is that a problem?
So I can assume it has had glass fitted later? The sliding door window and the window above the sink are sliders and two of the four pieces of glass are cracked.
I know it was converted by a firm in Manchester but don't know who, thats about it really. It's in for some bodywork at the moment but I'm trying to source bits while I wait for it to come back.
So any experts out there who could advise me on where to go or what to do to determine the origins of the windows etc.
This is the first of many daft questions i will be asking as time goes on.
also the drivers window won't wind down, can the winder be fixed or where can I get a cheap one of those?
