noise from rear wheel?

I noticed a squeek/rubbing noise coming from the rear offside wheel the other day.
On inspection i noticed that the back edge of the drum that sits in the groove on the backplate had signs that it had just been touching the back plate (slightly polished) so i thought it might be due to the build up of corrosion on the drum so i took the drum off and took a file to it and cleaned it up. Ive just took it out for a run and its still doing it? by the way the drum and the backplate both look in good condition?
Anyone help please?
Cheers

Lateral play in the rear wheel bearing ... has the nut slackened off ?

Im sure it hasnt looking at it the split pin is still in place and the nut looks as if it hasnt moved in a long time.

The bearing is on it's way out OR it needs tightening up ... either way it's lateral play allowing the 2 points to make contact.

IIRC the splined driveshaft end has to have the hub pulled off it after the brake plate assembly is removed OR you can remove the whole assembly which gives you the opportunity to repack the CV joints AND easier to make sure the outer CV bolts will undo properly not made of cheese and fooked

never had to pull a hub off the shaft, they normally slide off easy..
Small amount of 12 o'clock to 6 o'clovk play is normal.. (age wear related) but there shouldnt be any 9-3 play... if there is bearing is deffo on its way out..
