Is that gas I smell?

The exact question I asked the mrs last time we were in 'alf'. So now I guess I have to strip out anything in my way and check all my pipes/joins.

Anyone done this? Got any tips?

Cheers

check that you haven't left an onion to go manky before you start taking your van to bits :ok

Check any vents first..... May be blocked. Or perhaps the tap is leaking?

No onions unfortunately.

What you mean by tap? If you mean regulator, bottle is outside and doesn't smell, had and fixed that already.

If you mean the actual hobs/grill, I don't believe it is them.

If you mean something else, please share the wealth.

Do you have twin gas bottles? I do and have only just found out that they are linked together!! One gas bottle became empty so I removed it ready to buy a replacement, however the next time we tried to make a cup of tea there was a terrible smell of gas after I turned the tap on the regulator on. The gas was coming out of the unconnected regulator and upon inspection I found a small length of pipe that joined the two pipe runs together, I had always thought that one gas bottle was for the gas cooker/grill and the other for the fridge.

Only one gas bottle. Just for the cooker. Thursday is when I'm going to have a look. Hopefully easy.

Can you explain further how your set up is installed please? It's just that you mention that your gas bottle is outside, whereas many members here have internal gas bottles to supply there fridges, and cookers.

I can indeed micky. My gas bottle sits outside, next to drivers door ish. Underneath the van, on drivers side, inline with petrol cap ish, is a gas pipe attachment. From here the pipe goes up into the van, behind my cupboard, to my grill/hobs that are behind the drivers seat. Still a bit vague I know but I can't see exactly what route it takes upward into the van, and I have not taken the back of the cupboard off yet to see which way it goes there.
