Hi y'all

I am looking for a supplier who can source 4 gas struts for my Holdsworth (low rise) Villa 3 roof. The original manufacturers wanted £403 each or £120 each in black. I can sort all the dimensions and fittings but not the newton bit :?:

Here's hoping. Thanks

I noticed these on ebay the other day. It looks like the dealer has a range of sizes, might be worth asking him.

Hey Luckopig,

I'm looking for exactly the same thing at the mo! So far in my search I've found two places that seem to do them. The first is a company called Camper Shop http://poptop-parts.co.uk/roof-parts.htm#struts. Although they have been out of stock for a while and I haven't been able to get through on the phone yet.

The other place is SGS Engineering. http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gas-stru ... roof-strut. I rang them up and they said I'd need to give them the part number off the original struts to be able to match it. Unfortunately I couldn't do it this morning as the other half's at work and I can't get the lid up on my own because the struts are that knackered and I'm a big wussy girl! But... it sounds hopeful! :ok

I hope this is helpful! Please let me know how you get on!

Dusty

Spoke to SGS cuz when you click on holdsworth Villa you get a picture of a Westy. I gave them the part number of the old strut and they did not recognise it and asked for all the dimensions. Still got to do that.

Let ya know

Maybe CamperShop can tell us just what they are out of stock of

I have posted one of mine to SGS as they didn't have a clue, even with all the measurements. Heres hoping

Heya, I have just FINALLY (after trying for the last couple of weeks) managed to speak to someone at Pop Top Parts.

I'm afraid it's not good news. Not only is it pretty unlikely they'll stock gas struts for the Villa in the future, but he "can't divulge their supplier". Great help, eh?

I asked if he could recommend any alternatives and apparently our best bet is to try a strut engineering company, or have the originals re-gassed.

I'd love to know how you get on with SGS! Have you heard anything since you posted your strut to them?

Ive used SGS last year , and they were great , there product was fantastic and they made mine to while i waited , no worries.
provding you go to there unit they take aprox 15 min to make , and if you,re not happy they will put in or take out pressure till you happy.

neil :ok

Hey Neil!

Thanks for that, that's good to know :o) do you mean brand new gas stirs or re-gassing of your originals?
