we are hoping to put in opening side windows in the army bus ... it is a 1990 transporter, it has fixed glass fitted, the windows I hope to put in are from a 1981 van. is there any potential issues with the aperture?
I do not want to go cutting or welding .. is it as simple as I am hoping?

Depends on if whats in there, and what you have to go in, are the same size and shape. If they are all original VW it should be easy, but I doubt they are, different converters will have used different shapes/sizes from different suppliers.
I bought a sliding door to replace mine - already with a window cut out, but my existing window is bigger and with a totally different corner radius so still had to cut it out!
If they are smaller than existing then youll need some fairly involved welding work - I wouldn't bother but rather try to find some that did fit or were at least bigger.
Or you might be very lucky and it be a straight swap.....
