Are saab 93 seats the same/similar to 900 seats in fitting aspects?
I've seen some on ebay at a reasonable price.
Cheers.

9-3 seats don't sit on 2 runners as the 900 seats do. They are bolted to a base that incorporates the runners slider adjustment mech and the hight adjustment mech (drivers) then this base is bolted to the car.

After a bit of head scratching the best way I found for the drivers was.....
remove the swivel base ( eBay it because we never used used it plus seats paid for and a trip to the pub :D )
If no swivel base, grind T-25 runners off seat box.
Using Saab hight adjusting seat base, carefully drill to fit and bolt the seat base to T 25 seat box, use high tensile bolts and captive nuts.

Passenger side....
If no swivel base then see above
I wanted to keep the swivel base and using the Saab seat base (runners) on the swivel means the seat is mounted too high.
Remove Saab seat base (runners) from Saab seat.
remove T-25 seat, what you want are the runners and the seat adjuster bar but you will have to take the seat apart and grind off the back rest supports from the seat runners.
Drill and bolt T -25 runners to saab seat ( obviously after measuring for correct placement) fit adjuster bar.
Trail fit
Weld runners to seat.

Simples :run

Hope this helps
John

Thanks for your reply that helps a lot.
I only have a passenger swivel seat and I don't mind cutting into the van so 93 seats will be on the cards :ok

Found a couple of pics of the underside on fleebay
these are 9-3 seats they have a couple of extra fixing points that will unbolt off the slider

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SAAB-9-3-SPOR ... _500wt_922" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

And these are 9-5 seats

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SAAB-9-5-BLAC ... _500wt_922" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

On closer inspection its the 9-5 seats I fitted in mine (considering I went to the scrappy and removed them myself, you would think Id of paid more attention!) but looking at the pics the 9-3 seat bases look almost the same just a difference in the forward/back adjuster and couple of extra fitting points to remove.
:ok

Good luck
John

Depends...

There's several different Saabs used both the 9-3 and 900 badges.

First, there was the "c900" - the proper one, the old '80s one. The seats in those changed fitment in around '90 - later ones are the same as 9000.
Then there was the "NG900" or "GM900" - a reshelled Cavalier. That was facelifted and reworked in the late '90s and rebadged 9-3. They're probably the ones you're after.
Finally, there was the "9-3ss" - with a boot, not a hatch.

Be sure you're getting the ones you think you are, if you're after a set off fleaBay or wherever.

Thanks Adrian, I didn't realise there were so many variants.
