Central Locking Actuators

Does anybody know if it is still possible to get hold of New or New Old Stock Central Locking Actuators? Specifically the Master ones for the front doors.
I have an 89 Westy California, which has factory fitted CL, but the front door wiper seals were shot and over the years before I got the van the CL actuators had suffered from water damage. I have repaired and cleaned as best as possible but there are some broken and damaged parts, and they have finally given up.

New ones would be preferable, but seconds would also do for donor bits........

for replacements new you fit the T4 ones, still available new, but they have different plug connections, VW sell little looms that suit, but the looms are almost as expensive as the motors
the motors can be stripped down and rebuilt usually, they are quite simple things, and usually it's just the sliding contacts that have become worn/pitted and can easily be sorted, once you have them open you can soon check if the actual motor still works, if it does then fix the mechanisms, if it doesn't then extend the overdraft

Thanks Guys,

I had already seen the ones on Parts Emporium. Only one of them looks to be in reasonable condition.

I have already stripped mine down and cleaned them out. The tiny springs for the contractor were rusted away, and now have been replaced with some foam rubber, as I can't seem to find springs small enough to fit.

Unfortunately one of the nylon cogs in the mechanism is worn on one side where the motor has slipped agains it and now that is the part i need to replace.

As for the T4 Actuctors, I have looked all over the inter web and no sign of them. Any suggestions where to get a price from? Also, will they work with the current slave units on the slide door and boot, or will they all need to be changed?

I bought a pair of the T4 ones from VW and prices werent that bad, around £45 each from memory, the loom is obsolete tho but I managed to make my own up and they work a treat.

I bought a generic kit from ebay four years ago and had no issues with it. Was about £30 for four doors. Use what you need and throw the rest away?

retractable biros yield springs of approx the right diameter you can cut them down to get what you need, that's what I used

Right. CL Update.

Gave up with trying to resurrect the old actuators, and bought a slave and master kit from right click for £20

Straight swap of actuators, as mounting screws match Factory plates.
Bit of tinkering to get the linkages lined up correctly to the lock mechanisms,
And piggy back onto the old loom for the back and side door as the slaves are two wire like the new system.
The only issue was the master Actuators as they were 5 site instead of the Factory 4 wire. But it turns out that running in the 5 wire loom from the kit to each door is a relatively simple job. The hardest bit being getting the wires into the rubber tube that links the body to the door.....

All works great, apart from a mystery issue with the sliding door lock... it is completely un responsive, even though it is 'in the circuit' with the boot which works fine....

Tinkering Continues..
