evening all
apart from good old fashion elbow grease, has anyone got any tips for removing road grease and tar from chrome bumpers please? Front and tops are OK but the bottoms are caked in the stuff. Managed to get hold of some german chrome polish for the final finish but I need to get them bling bling first before applying.
cheers mucho

I use an Autosmart product called Tardis. Absolutely first class.

I have a stainless steel exhaust end which was liberally covered in baked on tar, Spray with Tardis, wait a couple of minutes, wipe off 80% of the tar. Reapply Tardis, another couple of mins, wipe off the rest.

cheers for the tips
I tried WD40 in the end and it seems to work a treat

You need tio use it quite liberally but it removed layers of road grease/tar/oil back to the chrome - sweet as the proverbial nut.
Used a rubber ball for removing the remenants of sticky back tape - soft enough not to scrtach the chrome but hard enough to remove the sticky goo. I will be using Autosol chrome polish for the final finish.
will post some pictures when i get the time.
ta for now
