starter motor

hi have not long purchased a t25 1983 kamper on my journey home from south coast back to cardiff i stoped at the services and then the van wouldnt start we banged the starter motor in the engine with no joy and ended up calling the aa. whilst they were there i noticed the original starter under the van was still fitted we banged this and all started on our way again thank goodness. i have had no problems starting since but am confussed as to why i have two starters and havent yet found a garauge to take it to any suggestions!!!!

Two starter motors.

Are you sure? If the original was still fitted.Where is the second one situated.We need to see pictures!
we banged the starter motor in the engine with no joy and ended up calling the aa. whilst they were there i noticed the original starter under the van was still fitted we banged this and all started

The starter solenoid is above the startermotor itself .... is this a manual or automatic ? Petrol or diesel ?

hi rob feel like a really dum blonde her but here we go. the second one is fitted on the left side of the enginemounted on the body when tested had no power going to it but once van was started we had readings on aa mans machine.

hi rob have tried to add photo as attachement but it wont allow me to. will keep trying but may have to wait for kids to come home and have a go

Ceri.Try doing it this way..
* using Photobucket to post pictures on to the forum.
* go to photobucket ...
http://www.photobucket.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
* register with them (it's free)
* upload pictures to them with their uploader
* copy the [img] code that photobucket give you for the picture (drop down box when you hovver the pointer over the picture.)
* paste it into the reply box on the forum
* click the submit button

thanks all for advice will check ignition coil in the morning if it is then it isnt positioned where i expected it. will try and update 2moro on progress still no joy with photo.
