well , tbh its been very random and been like it for maybe 6 months , thing is as it was so random ive been loathed to do anything about it .

well today it decided to do it every time i drove over 2300 rpm. so i first thought its the high pressure switch . but ive tried bypassing / earthing it out and it makes no difference , so im beginning to think its a dash problem . tonight ive had it all out, tracks are all good, and everything appears to be in good order, to remedy the dam buzzer ive removed the small connector from the back of the speedo

i have no noisey tappets ,it has never used any oil , it was mot'd saturday and passed :) and the emission were spot on . i no none of this means it aint a fudged engine , but i think and hope its gona be the switch .

ive read a re read the wiki on this , but cant make out were it is ? i think its below/behind the pulley / waterpump area ? i can see the brown wire to it , which then just dissapears.

to make it all worse im off to devon on friday for 7 days , hence ive removed the connector on as a temp measure, ill be giving it fresh oil before i go , as a please dont break down present .

jim :)

I had a buzzer issue too. I was pretty sure it wasn't a pressure issue but it'll be a downer on your holiday worrying about it.

I bought a similar kit to this. Well worth the piece of mind it brings.

tbh im convinced its a pcb problem on the dash, but ill be fitting a oil pressure and temp gauge in the front when i get back . im also going to try to fit a new high and low switch before i go , id rather throw 20/30 quid at it in new switches than think what if .

If you've earthed the wire that should go to the high-rev switch, and it's still doing it - then it can only be a wiring or dash problem. It can't be an actual pressure or switch problem.

sweet, its as i thought then, i spouse i best go buy some new batterys for the multi meter :(

i was always convinced that because of the randomness of the issue , it was wiring related . i shall investigate it when i get back from me hols.
