Front Offside Inner Driveshaft CV Boot Question

Today with the front passenger side up on axle stand, and wheel off ready to unde-rseal, I noticed that my inner driveshaft cv boot had come away from the hex headed flange side.

Upon closer inspection, the boot is fine, no damage, and popped back on. I checked the other side, and its retained with what looks like an OEM clamp similar to a large jubilee clip.

My question is, does anyone know what size boot retainer I need? Feeling around the area there is next to nothing for it to be secured if Im honest though. so possibly a quite slim retainer is needed?

Thanks in advance folk's :).

no one has replied because no one can look it up, the clip that holds on the rubber gaiter to the metal part in the front inner original style cv boot isn't listed as seperate part they are a one shot factory fitting - they get reused, or replaced with cable ties generally if people reuse the boot - but the only advantage of that version of boot is the insitu adding of extra grease (get me home/shut it up) rather than removal asfics, so mostly we slap on rear cv boots as they are the same size cv and seem to work fine - and cable ties and other 'solutions' have been known to come off and then water/mud has got in and cv been damaged

Cheers for the response Aidan, I need to secure it some how as its a good CV joint, no noises etc, so certainly wish to protect it, but cable ties being only a temp fix, I guess I need to remove the shaft, and change the boot then :( Bugger, of version of the UK's MOT is in July too, so need to get it done before then.

I could do, but I will try and sort it myself. Buying a pair of Ramps tomorrow as Im wanting to complete under sealing, and rust protection, and the ramps will help alot in taking a closer look at the cv joint :ok

I did mean ask him if has got one kicking about so you can fit it yourself..

Its either that or get an approx dimension and see if the local parts supplier has one out of a "normal car" cv boot kit available..

In fact what do the univeral strechy boot kits have in them? an adjustable strap/clip? I dunno..

A good quality narrow style "jubilee" clip may do the job.. I doubt that the weight of the screw will cuase a vibe as its not spinning that fast in realit and such a small diameter.. might be worth a try to get it through the test..
