Morning morning!

Off on our 1st trip to France tomorrow, but we have to have a stop over in a chavel lodge in Dover (Is this glamping....?) My question to all you hardcore veterans is, do i leave all the bikes and gear on the van overnight or is this a little bit trusting/hopeful that the local tea leaves aren't around?

I personally don't think I'd have a good nights sleep if the car park hasn't got a security guard.
We stayed here last time we went, really nice and friendly good food & beer plus a lot cheaper than a Travel lodge too.

Top tip. When you get over the other side do not leave your bikes unattended in the Calais area eg supermarket car parks. They may well not be there when you return. This is because there are too many desparate people living rough in the Calais area living off their wits and little money (while trying to jump lorries bound for the UK). So it is wise for somebody to sit in the van and chill out, while the rest shop. I tend to volunteer for this task while the womenfolk shop without me. Yes I know it's a tough job but someone has to do it.

We NEVER even stop in/around the ferry ports, most (especially Dover & Calais) are crawling with undesirables ... besides that the wine's better/cheaper in a local E l'Eclerc than the hypermache.

We sleep 30 minutes minimum away the night before the ferry BOTH sides.
