Indicators inop??

Driving home yesterday my indicators decided to stop working?
Just the indicator operation bulb stays on permanently on the dash?
Like this in both directions?
Ahh I thought this must be a relay issue but the hazards are working fine??
Any ideas

It could be the relay. I am pretty sure that the hazard part is on a different circuit. I had one of these stop on me. I went to get a replacement which did not work. Put the old one back in and it burst back into life. So try pulling the relay out and put it back in again. It worked for me. If it doesn't work maybe VW or Birckwerks can provide a replacement. Good luck

Yuh see. Old motors are quirky. It worked for me and I am pleased that it worked for you too. The reason? Who knows. Who cares. They are working again. That's all that matters.

That might be sheer coincidence as you'd disturb the fusebox slightly messing around under there. On the ceramic type fusebox the fault is nearly always a poor connection on the fuses for the indicator circuit. It only takes a nudge sometimes to get them going again. Make sure, put your glasses on and check each fuse very carefully. Remove them and actually inspect each one. Often the faulty one falls apart when removed but even a small hairline crack in the fuse metal is enough to cause that fault.
