I zeroed the tripmeter on my speedo as i do after filling up with lpg only to notice after driving that the mileage meter and trip meter had not changed yet the speedo needle was working fine. Any body else had this problem and is it a diy job?
Thanks in advance.

Somewhere someone did a write up on this repair - either on here or on the Brickyard. (I can't remember any further details though. Search time.

This has just happened to me. We had a few spare dashes sitting around the house, so i swapped the actual speedo unit out so i still had one that was clicking over. [yes, the van has now done 40,000 less kilometres]. The odometer that wasn't working was due to one of the little cogs just falling out of place. Im putting that down to just how bad my ride quality is after lowering it, and not changing anything else...
To get it working again, got the dash out, undid the 4 little backing bolts that hold the speedo/etc in. Then you can actually see whats going on there. For me, was a case of spot the out of place cog.

1980 van with a trip? It's not the original speedo then.

Dont know if the uk models had a trip on the 1980 models but it was an option in Germany. Shows it in the German handbook and all the service and old tuv paperwork from when our joker was new to 2006 when we got it confirm the speedo reading.
